PhD Command Center is an independent, single-developer project for tracking PhD research — experiments, literature, results, advisor meetings, and dissertation progress. By creating an account, you agree to these terms.
This isn't a funded company with an SLA or a support team — it's a side project made available for other PhD candidates to use for free. It's provided "as is," without warranty of any kind. Features may change, break, or be removed, and the service may go offline temporarily or permanently, without notice.
You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your password secure. You must be old enough to consent to these terms under the law of your country. Don't share your account, and don't use the service for anything illegal or for content you don't have the right to store.
Everything you enter — projects, experiments, papers, results, dissertation drafts — is yours. We claim no ownership over it. You're solely responsible for backing up anything irreplaceable; see our Privacy Policy for how we back up the database on our end.
AI features (Ask My Research, summaries, meeting-note extraction) require you to supply your own API key for a provider like Anthropic or OpenAI. You're responsible for that provider's own terms, usage limits, and any costs you incur — we never see your usage billed to us, and we don't supply or subsidize API access.
If you invite a collaborator into your workspace, you're choosing to share your research data with them at the access level you grant (view, or view + comment). You can revoke that access at any time from Settings.
You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that abuse the service, attempt to compromise it, or violate these terms. We'll make a reasonable effort to let you export your data first if we ever have to shut the service down entirely.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, PhD Command Center and its developer aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service — including lost research data, missed deadlines, or lost work. Use it as one tool among several, not as your only copy of anything irreplaceable.
These terms may be updated as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
